02 May “LA ROCA Y EL MAR”, CIIF MARKET SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 2021 AWARD

The Uruguayan project “LA ROCA Y EL MAR” (Carajito Films), a period series in the key of drama and thriller, has won the first CIIF Market Santa Cruz de Tenerife 2021 Prize for the production in development with the greatest international projection.

The Canary Islands Film Award for the best Canarian project has gone to the comedy “LET ME TELL YOU AGAIN THAT I LOVE YOU” (Chukumi Studio, Los Emotions), which in total has won three awards (also Filmarket Hub Award and MAFIZ Award).

From Wednesday to Friday, the Mencey Hotel in the capital of Tenerife has been the headquarters of the XVII Canary Islands International Film Market (CIIF), an event that has brought together more than a hundred professionals from the film and audiovisual sector both in person and online.

In this way, to the afore mentioned The rock and the sea, by Carajito Films (Uruguay), which obtained the award for the proposal with the greatest international projection.

Let me tell you again that I love you, by Chukumi Studio and Los Emotions has obtained three awards, a feature film directed by José Víctor Fuentes: the best Canarian project, the Filmarket Hub and the Mafiz (Málaga Festival Industry Zone). This last award was also received by the feature film The earthworm king, directed by Sonia Escolano. 

Torretta United Mafia, by Álvaro Iglesias, won the Macaronesia Films Award for the project with international potential, while A stitch, a tear (Colombia, Carlos Castro and Isabel Macías) and Desert Fishermen (Ayoze O’Shanahan) received equally el Premio Music Library & SFX.

600 ONE TO ONE MEETINGS

A hundred professionals from the film and audiovisual sector have gathered (in person and virtually) at CIIF Market 2021, which took place from April 28 to 30 in the capital of Tenerife.

600 meetings and one-to-one meetings have been held in a hybrid format between directors, producers, distributors, sales agents, international experts, organizations, authors, rights managers, among other professionals in the film and film sector, television and editorial.

More than 1,000 views have been posted on the CIIF Market YouTube channel on the days of the market.
