The Canary Islands International Film Market (CIIF Market)<\/strong> has opened its international call for projects to participate in its 22nd edition<\/strong>, which will be held from October 26 to 30, 2026<\/strong>, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. National and international production companies can submit, until September 6, 2026<\/strong>, feature film or documentary projects, series, miniseries, and docuseries that are in development and seeking financing, strategic partners, and international co-production opportunities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Organized by Festeam, Comunicaci\u00f3n y Eventos, S.L., with sponsorship from the Tenerife Island Council, Department of Culture, Museums and Sports; the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through the Development Corporation; and the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Canary Islands Institute of Cultural Development, Canary Islands Film and PROEXCA; with the collaboration of Turismo de Tenerife, through the Tenerife Film Commission; the Canary Islands Audiovisual Cluster and Macaronesia Films, among other entities, CIIF Market has established itself over more than two decades as one of the main meeting points in the Canary Islands for producers, distributors, television networks, platforms, sales agents, funds and investors from Europe and Latin America. <\/p>

The call for applications includes the selection of up to 12 projects for the National and International section and up to 5 Canary Island projects for the Focus Canarias section, which will have access to a personalized agenda of professional meetings, pitch sessions, networking activities and meetings with potential financial and creative partners.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Projects in Spanish or English may be registered, including feature-length fiction or documentary films, fiction series and miniseries or docuseries, as well as transmedia, crossmedia and multiplatform initiatives whose main basis is a cinematographic work.<\/p>

Key selection criteria include the artistic and narrative quality of the projects, their clear focus on the international market, the track record and talent of the creative and production teams, and the strength and viability of their financing plans. The selection committee will also place particular value on innovation in formats and distribution models, as well as the production companies’ prior experience in international co-production. <\/p>

Projects must submit a budget in euros and provide proof of a financing plan with at least 20% already secured, in addition to being in the development phase and not having exhausted their financing possibilities.<\/p>

Project registration is free and must be completed using the form available on the official CIIF Market website, where the competition rules are also available. Only selected projects will be required to pay a participation fee, with discounts for members of collaborating organizations and an exemption for projects from Latin America. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

These include the CIIF Market Santa Cruz de Tenerife Award, worth \u20ac3,000 for the project considered the best at the market; the Cabildo de Tenerife Award, for the best project from the Canary Islands; and the Music Library & SFX Award, which will grant one European and one Latin American project a professional music license to use content from its catalog.
