- The 21st edition of the Canary Islands International Film Market presented its annual awards to several outstanding projects
The CIIF Market Awards 2025 recognize and promote emerging film talent both in the Canary Islands and internationally, highlighting projects with the greatest potential for co-production, global projection, commitment to sustainability and artistic and technical excellence.
These awards, granted by public institutions and collaborating entities, reinforce the market’s objective of promoting the development, professionalization and internationalization of audiovisual production from the Canary Islands to the world.
During the closing ceremony of CIIF Market 2025, the CIIF Market 2025 Awards were presented to the following projects:
The CIIF Market Santa Cruz de Tenerife Award for the Project with the Greatest International Potential—which includes a €3,000 travel grant to attend an international market—was awarded to “Huayo,” by Audiovisual Films (Peru). Dorian Fernández (director and producer) and Andrea Moberg (producer) accepted the award. This animated feature film tells the story of Huayo, a magical fruit that embarks on an adventure with a forest boy and a city girl to save the last sacred forest in the Amazon.
The Tenerife Island Council Award for the Canary Islands Project with the Greatest Projection went to “Mansa”, by Digital 104, collected by Domingo J. González (director) and Nayra Rodríguez (producer).
The project, set in 1814, portrays the life of Rosalía, an enslaved woman who fights for her freedom in southern Tenerife, a story of resistance and dignity that rescues historical memory from a Canarian perspective.
