This could result in the forced displacement of between 10 and 30 million people from the country’s southern coastline, forcing many Bangladeshis to flee as “climate refugees”, a human population expected to reach 250 million worldwide by mid-century. On a planetary scale, we are talking about the largest mass migration in human history. How long will Dhaka cope with the influx of so many people? Where will all these people go when the cities collapse? Who will take them in? We are sitting on a huge time bomb.

Cuarzo is the feature-length extension of the short documentary with fictional recreations 7:11 Cuarzo, awarded by the Malaga Film Festival. As in the short film, the story will be based on other people’s lives and will focus on the same with absolute accuracy: the consequences, the different after-effects that can be left by child abuse. In particular, the aim is to show the different faces that the same truth can have. Beyond the desire to criticize, denounce or victimize, the intention is to look where no one is looking and to tell of a reality that leaves no one indifferent and acts invisibly in our society, such as child abuse and rape in the aberrant figure of more than 85% in the direct family environment. Thus, the main aim is to raise awareness and bring the viewer face to face with a truth that until then has been terribly invisible.
