The Canary Islands International Film Market (CIIF Market) held its third day yesterday, with a program focused on financing opportunities for the audiovisual sector, professional meetings, and the presentation of new technological solutions applied to the industry.
The day began with a presentation by Bankinter, which showcased its financing solutions for the audiovisual sector through its Financial Structuring and International Business divisions. The session featured contributions from Luis Piñas Ruiz, Director of Financial Structuring; Fernando V. Rodríguez Sanso, Director of International Business; and Andrea Gómez Campos, Capital Markets Executive. The meeting provided industry professionals with an overview of the financing options and tools available to foster the development of audiovisual projects and facilitate their international reach.
Following this initial activity, one-on-one meetings took place between those in charge of the participating projects and various experts, associations, institutions, and industry collaborators. These individual meetings are a cornerstone of the CIIF Market, as they facilitate professional exchange, the identification of collaboration opportunities, and the establishment of strategic contacts for the development, financing, and production of the projects.
PELIP presents its artificial intelligence platform for audiovisual pre-production
The day concluded with the presentation of PELIP—an audiovisual pre-production platform based on artificial intelligence—by Edurne San José Eraso and Coque Serrano. The initiative joins the market’s activities with an approach aimed at optimizing the preparation and development processes for audiovisual projects through specialized digital tools.
In addition to presenting how it operates, PELIP will contribute to this year’s awards by providing funding to support the winning projects in the “Best Spanish Project” and “Best Canarian Project” categories—awards that will be presented today during the closing session.
Each winning project will receive a six-month subscription to PELIP’s “Productora” (Production Company) plan, which allows for the management of up to five active projects and three users. This subscription will facilitate work during the pre-production phase by providing tools for creating breakdowns, shooting schedules, budgets tailored to ICAA standards, and financing plans, as well as dossiers for presenting projects to grant programs and potential co-producers.
Through this collaboration, CIIF Market reinforces its commitment to connecting industry professionals with resources and solutions that help improve production planning and foster project viability.
Final day: awards, closing ceremony, and cinema
CIIF Market holds its final day today, bringing this edition to a close with a closing ceremony and the presentation of awards for the best projects—including the Santa Cruz de Tenerife – CIIF Market Award and the Cabildo de Tenerife Award for the Best Canarian Project.
The program will conclude with a screening of *Tal vez*, by filmmaker Arima León—an event that will bring the gathering to a close while once again highlighting audiovisual creation and talent connected to the Canary Islands.
Following several days of presentations, professional meetings, and networking opportunities among various industry stakeholders, CIIF Market draws to a close, reaffirming its role as a meeting point for advancing projects, exploring funding avenues, and fostering collaboration within the audiovisual sector.
