The initiative has offered three specialized workshops to strengthen the financing, co-production, and development strategies for the audiovisual projects participating in the 22nd edition of the market.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife, October 23, 2026. CIIF Market Lab has successfully concluded its training program for the representatives of the 22 audiovisual projects selected to participate in the 22nd edition of CIIF Market, which is taking place from October 26 to 30 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The initiative, conceived as a preparatory activity for the market, has enabled participants to delve into key aspects of their project development, acquire practical tools, and strengthen their national and international financing and co-production strategies, with the aim of maximizing the business and collaboration opportunities offered by the professional gathering.
The program has met with a positive response from participants and has highlighted the importance of specialized training for addressing the challenges of an increasingly internationalized and competitive audiovisual industry.
Three workshops to strengthen financing and co-production strategies
CIIF Market Lab has structured its training program around three specialized workshops, designed to address the diverse needs of the selected projects and provide practical resources tailored to their specific characteristics and production goals.
The sessions have addressed three key areas for advancing the trajectory of audiovisual productions: co-production between Spanish autonomous communities, international co-production with Europe and Latin America, and financing strategies for projects with budgets of two million euros or more.
Through this content, participants have been able to gain a deeper understanding of the possibilities for collaboration between production companies, avenues for accessing financing, available grants and tax incentives, and the keys to presenting their proposals to potential strategic partners, investors, and co-producers.
Furthermore, the training program has placed special emphasis on preparing for professional meetings—an essential tool for identifying collaboration opportunities, establishing valuable contacts, and advancing the development of projects within the audiovisual market.
The sessions were led by Luis Ángel Ramírez, an executive producer and specialist in audiovisual development and financing, with coordination by Alex Ojeda Baute, a specialist in film markets and co-production and coordinator of MAFF (Málaga Festival Fund & Co-Production Event).
Practical training to boost new audiovisual projects
With this initiative, CIIF Market reinforces its commitment to supporting selected projects beyond their participation in the market, providing them with knowledge and tools that help improve their prospects for financing, production, and distribution.
Advance preparation enables participating teams to identify the specific needs of their projects, define realistic objectives, and approach meetings with industry professionals with a more robust, results-oriented strategy.
This approach takes on particular significance in a context where partnerships between production companies from different territories, the pursuit of funding, and international collaboration are key factors in bringing new audiovisual productions to fruition.
A boost to the internationalization of the audiovisual sector from the Canary Islands
