“ANIAGUA” AND “NON TRUBADA”, AWARDED AT ISLABENTURA CANARIAS, WILL PARTICIPATE IN CIIF MARKET

The international script laboratory IsLABentura Canarias has awarded to “Aniagua”, by Marina Rúbies, the DAMA + CIIF MARKET Award to the best feature film script , and “Non Trubada” , by Carolina Daza, the DAMA + CIIF MARKET Award for best series script , for which they are automatically selected to participate in the Canary Islands International Film Market , the result of the collaboration agreement between IsLABentura Canarias and CIIF Market.

CIIF Market 2022, which will take place from November 22 to 27 at Santa Cruz de Tenerife, will announce all the selected projects next week, as well as the Canarian literary works that will take part in the first edition of CIIF Market Lab, calls with great success, after receiving more than 80 film and/or audiovisual projects and more than 40 literary works.

The IsLABentura Canarias International Script Lab announced the winners of its first edition last Saturday, October 29th. The project “Aniagua”, by Marina Rúbies, received the DAMA + CIIF MARKET Award for best feature film script; and “Non Trubada”, by Carolina Daza, won the DAMA + CIIF MARKET Award for best series script, from the hands of Teodoro Ríos, honorary president of CIIF Market.

IsLABentura Canarias is an initiative of the Canary Islands Institute for Cultural Development, attached to the Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, which is managed through the Canary Islands Film unit, whose objective is to tutor the creation of feature film scripts and television series based on stories and/or locations in the Canary Islands.

As a result of the agreement between IsLABentura Canarias and Canary Islands International Film Market, both projects (“Aniagua” and “Non Trubada”) will participate in the official selection of the 18th edition of CIIF Market, to be held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife from November 22 to 27.

CIIF Market will bring together creatives (authors, screenwriters, filmmakers), production companies, television channels, distributors, sales agents and other industry professionals to stimulate film and audiovisual creation and promote the co-production of fiction feature films, documentaries and television series for the global market.

Pitching sessions will be held for the selected projects, which will be presented and evaluated by producers, recipients, analysts and national and international experts.

CIIF Market participants will have the opportunity to have a personalized agenda of one-on-one meetings with invited professionals and potential investors to co-produce their projects, as well as attend different panels and conferences. In addition, the selected projects will be eligible for various awards to promote them abroad.

This alliance between IsLABentura Canarias and CIIF Market aims to promote the cultural and professional exchange of both events and to favor the development and internationalization of the selected projects, as well as to promote the industry and filming locations in the Canary Islands.

CIIF Market 2022 and CIIF Market Lab successfully convened

The call to participate in the 18th edition of Canary Islands Films has been very well received, with more than 80 film and/or audiovisual projects and more than 40 Canarian literary works registered to attend the first edition of CIIF Market Lab, Laboratorio de Obras Literarias Canarias, launched in collaboration with the Asociación Cultural Canaria de Escritores/as – ACTE Canarias to increase cooperation between the audiovisual and publishing sectors and to highlight the creative talent of the Canary Islands.

The complete list of selected projects and literary works will be announced next week.
