On Tuesday, June 13, CIIF Market 2023 was officially inaugurated, with the presence of the delegates participating in this edition, as well as the receiving companies and experts who will advise and evaluate the different selected projects, and sponsoring and collaborating entities, among others. guests.
The event took place on the Laurel Terrace of the Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey Hotel in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The 17 projects will be presented to renowned production companies, distributors, television channels, sales agents, as well as receivers, analysts and leading national and international experts, with the assistance of companies such as A Contracorriente Films, Agencia La Luz, Álamo Producciones, Atresmedia Cine , Autentika Films, Begin Again Films, Bendita Film Sales, Buendía Estudios, El Viaje Films, Filmax, Latido Films, Promenades Films, RTVC – Radio Televisión Canaria; RTVE, Scenic Rights, Secuoya Studios, Warner Bros. The delegates of the selected projects will have a personalized agenda of one-on-one meetings and activities with the invited professionals and potential investors to co-produce their projects, among other market and networking activities. Likewise, they will compete for various prizes for their promotion and international development.
The activities began on Monday with tour locations to show the islands to new producers interested in filming in the Canary Islands. Panel days and conferences have also been scheduled, in which experienced professionals will discuss trends in film and audiovisual creation, adaptations, new authors, new relationships with the publishing sector, difficulties and opportunities for coming generations to access the job market. , in addition to various current affairs, with the presence of Silvia Pérez de Pablos (SGAE Foundation); Constanza Arena (La Luz Agency); Lourdes Navarro (Buendía Studies); David Cotarelo (Secuoya Studios); and Sydney Borjas (Scenic Rights), among others.
CIIF Market Lab’s emerging talents maintain a program of training activities that host online workshops on techniques and tools for pitching, marketing strategies and individual tutorials. During the event they will also have the opportunity to meet with the attending professionals, receive advice on their script and consultancy sessions.
