The event is designed to connect talent, inspire ideas, and unlock new opportunities.

Meeting with the local industry

For the second year running, the Canary Islands International Film Market held its “Tenerife Networking” event, a forum designed to strengthen ties between the Canary Islands’ audiovisual industry and the national and international professionals participating in the market. This unique opportunity allowed companies to present their services and discuss their latest projects and experience in the national and international co-production sector.

Among the participating companies were 22Dogs VFX, Airmedia 260, Amissus Media, Blurr Stories, Control Freaks, Macaronesia Films, Naif Films, and Seven Islands Film. These companies offer a wide range of services for film, television, advertising, and digital content productions, including visual effects, production, equipment rental, and drone filming, working with both local projects and national and international productions.

The meeting, organized in collaboration with the Tenerife Film Commission and the Canary Islands Audiovisual Cluster (CLAC), took place at the Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey Hotel and served to promote cooperation, the exchange of experiences and the promotion of the Canary Islands as a destination for filming and audiovisual investment.

The day began with a meeting between the members of the Tenerife Film Commission, in which experiences, new projects and lines of collaboration with the production companies attending the market were shared.

Next, the panel “Producing in the Canary Islands: the keys to the financial machinery” was held, which addressed the main mechanisms and tax advantages that the Canary Islands offer for audiovisual production, as well as the challenges and opportunities in the management of international co-productions.

The day continued with a guided tour of iconic locations on the island, where attendees were able to exchange contacts and explore future production partnerships.

CIIF Market participants had the opportunity to discover some of the most emblematic settings in northern Tenerife, combining heritage, landscape and local culture.

The Fam Trip began with the arrival in La Orotava, where a tour was conducted through its Historic Center, admiring its rich colonial architecture, reflected in the stately homes of the lower part and the traditional charm of the Upper Town, as well as enjoying its historic gardens.

Later, the group participated in the networking lunch held at the Taoro Lyceum, a space that offered an ideal environment for professional exchange between producers, location scouts and institutional representatives.

In the afternoon, the tour continued to Puerto de la Cruz, where a visit was made to the dock and the fishing neighborhood of La Ranilla, one of the most picturesque areas of the municipality, recognized for its authenticity, its cultural offer and its potential as a setting for audiovisual productions.
