The Canary Islands International Film Market (CIIF Market) announces the opening of its international call for projects for its 2025 edition, which will take place from October 27 to 31 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Organized by Festeam, Comunicación y Eventos S.L., the market is sponsored by the Tenerife Island Council, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, and the Canary Islands Government, and in collaboration with entities such as Tenerife Tourism Corporation, the Tenerife Film Commission, the Canary Islands Audiovisual Cluster, and Macaronesia Films, among others.
CIIF Market, now celebrating its 21st edition, has established itself as a strategic space for networking and international co-production for feature-length fiction, documentary, and series or miniseries projects for television or platforms. This forum seeks to connect producers with potential financial partners, distributors, sales agents, and content managers, with the goal of promoting the financing and global circulation of content.
The call is open to projects in development presented by national and international production companies. Fiction or documentary projects, series or docuseries, in Spanish or English, with a minimum running time of 60 minutes and aimed at the international market will be accepted. Projects must also be presented with a financing plan with at least 20% of the budget secured.
The selection process will assess the quality, viability, talent, and track record of the creative teams, as well as innovation in formats and distribution proposals. Up to 12 projects will be chosen for the National and International sections, and up to 5 Canary Islands projects will be chosen for the Focus Canary Islands section.
Selected projects will have access to a personalized agenda of one-on-one meetings, pitch sessions with industry professionals, and will be able to participate in all networking activities, presentations, and market events.
The registration deadline is September 7, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (Canary Islands time). If selected, participants will be required to pay a €100 fee, with special discounts for members of collaborating organizations. Selected Latin American projects will be exempt from this fee.
CIIF Market will also award several prizes to the projects with the greatest international reach, including the CIIF Market Santa Cruz de Tenerife Award, the Cabildo de Tenerife Award, the Music Library & SFX Award, the MAFIZ Award, technical services for post-production, and audiovisual sustainability strategies, among other recognitions.
